Answered questions on reading assignment and then collected them.
Went over problems on worksheet.
Showed potato battery.
Mentioned CIM lab that students will be doing after the electricity test on Tuesday.
CIM Investigation should include using Vernier equipment, a data table, a graph, and a discussion of errors and uncertainties. A more detailed description will be given out next week.
Possibilities could include the potato battery and how it can be set up to light a light. Rolling down an incline (different size hoops, jar with varying amounts of water, comparing speeds and energies at bottom, how high they roll up a ramp, etc)
Students were given battery set up and a breadboard with 3 resistors. They were asked to
1. Look at the color codes of the resistors to determine their values
2. Use the ohmmeter to measure the values. Why don't they all agree?
3a. Measure the voltage (DC) across the battery pack.
3b. Measure the voltages across each resistor.
4. Sketch a schematic of the circuit.

Handed back Journals.
Spent period doing demos and having students note them in their journals.
1. Light Candle, blow out, relight by holding match above wick
2. Balloon with water doesn’t burn in candle
3. Penny in plate. Cover with water. Cork raft with 3 matches. Light and cover with glass.
4. Match in match box with second match diagonally over coin. Light diagonal match to have it lift up.
5. How many stacked pennies will match the height of a penny on end?
6. Dollar bill through eyes
7. Bounce ball under table
8. 100 ml of water in soda can
9. Put fingers together 6 inches from eyes. Look beyond. Sausage fingers (forgot to do)
10. Rotate right foot clockwise, make figure 6’s with right index finger. (forgot to do)
11. Hand on table, lift each finger. Tuck under middle finger. Can’t lift ring finger. (forgot to do)
12. Straw on plastic bottle.
13. Push arm against door frame for 30 seconds (forgot to do)
14. Walk into a postcard.
15. Glass on string over pencil
16. Drop slinky
17. Pick up marble with glass
18. Knife in rice
19. Periscope
